Outpatient checkups, monthly laboratory tests, maintenance medications – we got to live with them. Health is, after all, the start of everything. Once we are fit and healthy, we can go on with our daily lives without worries.
The cost of health and wellness, however, has been going up non-stop. And although there are countless medical insurance available, not everybody can afford them, especially those high premium ones. With this, many opt to just self-medicate or worse, not mind their illness unless it gets grave.
Fortunately, nowadays, there are a lot of medical programs which are discounted, and some even free. Promotions are everywhere! Whether a clinic has just opened and is trying to get the market to know them, or during awareness months wherein checkups and laboratory tests are mostly discounted, or new brands of medicines have just been released that they are trying to change everyone’s brand. Yes, we got to open our eyes and arms to this.
There are campaigns of diabetes or hypertension wherein a team of health care providers would be in a certain area for a day or two. They will be checking your blood sugar and your blood pressure, and will be giving health teachings or discount cards for medicines. So do not just throw out flyers and brochures given to you while you are trying to walk pass them as fast as you can.
On the other hand, make sure you will not be fooled. Whether face to face or online, there are a lot of spam and viruses spreading. But there are also genuine health campaigns, websites offering discounted items or freebies with every purchase. There are true discount cards and provisional promotions out there for medicines and even for hearing aids and supplies for checking blood pressure or sugar. For chronic illnesses, even some insurance companies do not cater to them. Mostly, if you have a pre-existing condition, you have to shoulder the expenses for it. And that would be too much. So you have to try looking for promotions on medical programs and make the most out of them.
